How $67 saved my trip. Moab, Utah Photography Trip

Last spring, I spent a week in photographer’s paradise, Moab, Utah. The trip was incredible. While I spent most of my time trying to capture the beauty of the natural landscape, I also did a ton of hiking, went white water rafting, and had my first trip in a hot air balloon. One of my favorite days was spent in Arches National Park, driving from one crazy rock formation to the next. Then I went back into the park at night to gaze at the billions of stars in the sky above. It was only the next morning when I realized I had forgotten something crucial to my trip, my camera charger!

Fortunately, the battery in my camera had been fully charged when I left home, and even after a couple of days of shooting, there was still some battery life left in the camera. In the following days, I was able to shoot some beautiful landscapes as well as some cool shots from the basket of a hot air balloon, hundreds of feet in the air! On the fourth day, I realized my battery wouldn’t make it to the end of the trip, so I frantically started googling camera shops in the area. Fortunately, there was one in town.

I headed over there and asked the shop owner if he had a charger for my camera, which I desperately needed to keep the trip alive. He went to grab one, rang it up, and told me it would be $67 DOLLARS! This was at least 5 times the price on Amazon, but I didn’t have any options. So, despite being an outrageous amount, I couldn’t help but be grateful to the shop for saving my trip!

With disaster averted, I spent the remaining days capturing as many incredible shots as possible and finished my trip by going Base Jumping. It was an outstanding trip, and I would recommend Moab to anyone, even if you are not a photographer. It is a beautiful place of endless landscapes, incredible stone arches, and billions of stars.
